- Teaching and learning in the 21st century offer much promise and excitement, yet there are many emerging issues and important considerations including assessment concerns, instructional strategies, equity, research methods, ethical, legal and safety issues that warrant careful reflection and strategic planning by school boards. The 2013 AERO Spring Conference will provide informative and interactive opportunities for learning about the effective use of technology for assessing and teaching the 21st century learning skills of creativity & innovation, collaboration, communication, critical thinking and problem solving. This conference will also address some of the implications for conducting research and evaluation projects in an increasingly digital society. Participants will have an opportunity to participate in working group sessions to broaden their understanding of the ‘big ideas’ related to 21st century teaching and learning along with implications for assessment, research and evaluation.
